Alice June Brown, 90, of Ionia, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.
She was born June 25, 1921, near Iowa City, Iowa, a daughter of Loren and Frances Petsel Potter. On September 28, 1940, in Iowa, she married Harold G. Brown, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed flowers, gardening and sewing. She was a member of the Christian Church in Iowa City.
In addition to her husband of 71 years, survivors include four children, Beverly Hoard, of Sedalia, Larry H. Brown, of Sedalia, Lynn Brown, of Calhoun, and Danny Brown, of Windsor; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Gardner, of Colorado.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Brown; and four brothers, Lewis, Elmer, George and James (in infancy).
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elvis Durrill officiating.
Casket bearers will be Justin Meyer, Justin Brown, Eric Dier, Rod Hoard, Roy Hoard and Jeff McKeehan.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Monday at Heckart Funeral Home.
