Sarah Ann Casteel, 95, of Sedalia, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Warrensburg Manor Care Center in Warrensburg.
She was born June 3, 1916, daughter of George and Doris Poteet O'Dell. On November 30, 1941, she married George Casteel, who preceded her in death on August 29, 1980.
Mrs. Casteel was a ward secretary at Bothwell Regional Health Center before her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.
Surviving are a son, George R. Casteel Jr., of White Hall, MT; 22 grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Leitt, of Kansa City.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William R. Casteel; and four daughters, Dorothy Robbins, Shirley Kentch, Almyra Betty Lunsford and Nancy Garren.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Cemetery near Missouri City.
Casket bearers will be Keith Daleen, Chad Bix, Paul Lawrence, Jake Daleen, Dustin Lunsford and Brandi Bix.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Omega Hospice of Lee's Summit.
