Norma J. (Stedman) Denight, age 79, of Sedalia, died January 6, 2012, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born November 12, 1932, in Terre Haute, Indiana, daughter of Alfred and Helen Stedman. She was married on November 18, 1950, to Bernard "Larry" Denight, who preceded her in death in 2002.
She graduated from Hopedale High School and attended classes as Lincolnland College in Springfield, Illinois. She worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company, J.C. Penney's, U.S. Chemicals, and retired from the Department of Transportation, State of Illinois, after 15 years. She was an Accountant III.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, sewing, camping and traveling.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryle Bowers (Roger) of Sedalia, Missouri, and a son, Michael Denight (Katy) of Mahomet, Illinois; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Stedman, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Warren Stedman, of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Donald Stedman.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, with Father Jim Betzen, C.PP.S. officiating.
Casket bearers will be grandchildren.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home.
