Anna May "Grannie Annie" Dorrell, 93, of Sedalia, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Saturday morning, February 4, 2012, at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, MO.

Anna was born on January 15, 1919, in Kansas City,
MO, to Arthur G. and Anna L. Pope. She married Schular Edward "Eddie" Wilson on September 11, 1937, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1969.

She remarried Orbin L. Dorrell and he also preceded her in death. Anna also had three siblings who have preceded her in death, Bud Pope, Naomi Askew and Frances Miller.

Anna is survived by her son, Charles E. Wilson, and his wife, JoAnn; her daughter, Nancy A. Bybee, and her husband, Bill; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she has many friends who will miss her very much.

Anna was one of the biggest hearted people anyone would ever know. She put her heart into everything she did especially when she was doing something for others. She was a member of The North Shore Chapel in Rocky Mount, MO, and in her earlier years enjoyed the activities of the Women's Missionary Group. Anna was a great cook specializing in homemade chicken and noodles and peach cobbler.

One of Anna's favorite things to do was make crafts, go to craft sales and get the satisfaction of seeing her crafts sell. She made thousands of crafts in her later years since she became immobile with osteoarthritis.

Anna was an avid animal lover, devoting many hours to Abbie, her ShihTsu. They were inseparable until Abbie died of congestive heart failure. Anna vowed not to own another dog because it hurt too much to lose one.

Some of her most cherished memories were the many trips to Branson that she and her daughter took. She especially liked Glen Campbell and Dino.

Before the dementia got so bad, she had her whole dining table in the residence center in stitches with her witty remarks and joking personality. Everybody loved her and she will be missed terribly by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Trevor Hayes and the Rev. Roger Perkin officiating.

Casket bearers will be Mark Ratterree, Josh Ratterree, Jeremy Ratterree, Ethan Wallis, Will Tattershall and Andy Sullins.

Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter.
