Sue Heckart, President/Funeral Director/Embalmer

Sue was born in Topeka, Kansas, moving to Sedalia with her parents, Del and Stella Heckart, to operate the family business when she was nine years old. She is a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall with a B.S. in Economics. She attended the National Foundation of Funeral Service School of Management in Evanston, IL. She also graduated from the University of Kansas Department of Mortuary Science.
Sue is a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, where she is a deacon and elder. She is a former chairman of the Missouri State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, serving as a member from 1987-1993. She is a member of the Helen G. Steele Music Club, Order of the Eastern Star, the Sedalia Rotary Club, and past president of Altrusa Club of Sedalia. She is a past Regent and former Outstanding Junior Member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Sue is the chairman of the Heckart Family Foundation, which undertakes many philanthropic endeavors in Sedalia and surrounding communities.
Sue has two retired show-dogs named Heidi and Charm, and is an avid Royals and Chiefs fan.
Brad Rea, Funeral Director/Embalmer

Brad was born in Joplin, Missouri and raised in Webb City, Missouri, were he was a 1986 high school graduate. After high school, he went to Laybette Junior College in Parson, Kansas, on a baseball scholarship. In 1988 he attended Missouri Southern State College in Joplin while working for a local funeral home. In February 1990, he graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. In May 1990, he came to Sedalia to serve his apprenticeship at Heckart's. In May of 1991, he was hired on as a licensed funeral director and embalmer.
Brad is married to Sarah, has a daughter, Andrea, a son, Cooper, and a stepson, Trevor. He and his family live in Sedalia.
Jeff Page, Funeral Director/Embalmer

Jeff was raised in Otterville, MO, and is a graduate of Otterville R-VI School. He began working for Heckart's right out of high school. He is a 2003 graduate of the Kansas City Kansas Community College School of Mortuary Science. He is also working toward a bachelor's degree in business management at Northwest Missouri State University.
Jeff is married to Megan. They are members of First Baptist Church of Otterville.
Fred Biggs, Funeral Director

Fred began working for Heckart's in 1959. At that time the ambulance service was still operating through the funeral home. He began his career as a funeral director in 1973. He semi-retired on January 1, 1999, and now assists with visitations, funerals, and pre-arrangement needs when requested.
Fred is a native of Nelson, Missouri. He is a 1952 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School.
Fred served as Pettis County Coroner 1981-2004. He has attended special training sessions in Wichita, Kansas, many training sessions through the Missouri Coroners' and Medical Examiners' Association, and the annual child death meetings presented by the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team.
Fred is a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Sedalia, where he has also been a Sunday School teacher and superintendent of the 4th grade Sunday School department. He is a three-time past president of the Sedalia Noonday Optimist Club, former Lt. Governor of the Noonday Optimist Club, past president of the Sedalia Civic Club Council, past president of the Sedalia Knife and Fork Club, a charter member of the Sedalia Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He served in Battery C, 128th FA Bn, MO Army National Guard for nine years and when discharged was SFC, Mess Sergeant.
Fred and his wife, Ada Louise, enjoy gardening and traveling to the western states.
Jerry Page, Funeral Assistant

Jerry is a lifelong Otterville resident. He began working for Heckart's part-time after his retirement from MFA Oil Company, previously known as Bixler Gas Company. He assists on many funerals and also does maintenance work around the funeral home.
He and his wife, Cheryl, are members of First Baptist Church in Otterville. They have three children, Cheri, Julie and Jeff, and four grandchildren, Ali, Evan, Emily and Mason.
In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and barbecuing.
